Conventional – We also call these full dentures, probably the most common type. We custom make conventional dentures and place them in the mouth once we remove all remaining teeth.

Immediate – We put immediate dentures in place the very same day we take out your remaining teeth. This way, you will not go without teeth while your gums heal.

Overdenture – Dental implants support this unique type of denture. The implants help lock the denture in place when a patient does not have enough bone to support it otherwise. Overdentures can be removable and easy to clean, or your dentist can screw them into place. We call the screwed-in version an All-On-4 overdenture.

They also help preserve the jawbone, which tends to shrink under a regular denture over time. Existing dentures can sometimes be adapted to snap onto new implants.

Getting Used to New Dentures

The first few weeks are an adjustment. Start with soft foods cut into small pieces, chew on both sides at once, and practice reading aloud to help your speech adapt. Sore spots are normal early on — we make adjustments so your dentures fit comfortably.

Caring for Your Dentures

• Remove and rinse them after eating
• Brush them daily with a soft brush and non-abrasive denture cleaner
• Soak them overnight in water or denture solution so they don’t dry out
• Never use hot water, which can warp them
• Take them out at night to give your gums a rest
• Keep up regular checkups so we can examine your gums and check the fit

Relines and Replacement

Your gums and jawbone change shape over time, so dentures slowly loosen. A reline refits the base to your current gums. Most dentures need a reline every couple of years and replacement roughly every 5 to 8 years.

Custom dentures typically take a few appointments over several weeks for impressions, bite records, and a try-in before the final denture is delivered.

Can I get dentures the same day my teeth are removed?

Yes, in many cases. An immediate denture is made ahead of time and placed right after extractions so you are never without teeth. It will need adjustments or a reline as your gums heal.

Will my dentures look natural and feel comfortable?
