Dentures are a removable replacement used when a patient is missing teeth. They are one of the most common tooth replacement services we offer, as they provide patients with a complete, full smile of natural-looking teeth. The custom-made dentures and denture care you will receive from Dr. Ron Katyal, will provide you with the confidence you would have with any set of beautiful, white, natural teeth. Because they are a removable appliance, dentures allow people to live their lives confidently and without feeling self-conscious about their less-than-perfect smile. We recommend dentures in many different situations, including for those who have lost their teeth due to trauma, gum disease, or tooth decay.

Types of Dentures

The dentures you will receive from Premier Smiles are convenient, comfortable, and natural-looking. We offer both full and partial dentures and custom make each set to ensure you are left with a highly personalized removable appliance. There are several different types of dentures that you should be aware of, including the following:

  • Conventional -These are also referred to as full dentures and are probably the most common type of denture. Conventional dentures are custom made and placed in the mouth once all the remaining teeth have been removed. Before this can happen, Dr. Katyal will have to make sure the tissues have properly healed, which could take upwards of several months.
  • Immediate – Immediate dentures are put in place on the very same day your remaining teeth are taken out. Dr. Katyal will take impressions of your mouth and then make custom molds to ensure accuracy. If it is determined that immediate dentures are the right option for your needs, you will not have to be without teeth while your gums heal.
  • Overdenture – Overdentures are a unique type of denture that is supported by dental implants. The implants can be used to help lock the denture in place when a patient does not have enough bone to support the denture. Overdentures can still be removable and easily cleaned or they can be screwed into place, which is called an All-On- 4 overdenture.

In order to determine which type is best for your particular needs, Dr. Katyal will schedule a consultation with you. Every patient is different and it is important for us to assess your situation and discuss your options to ensure we proceed accordingly. Dr. Katyal is committed to providing you with the highest quality of service possible and believes in working closely with his patients leading up to any kind of dental procedure. Thanks in large part to advancements in dental technology, dentures have come a long way and mimic the look of natural teeth. This provides people with a solution that is both aesthetically-pleasing and beneficial to restore the function of chewing.
